Pastries are a 5, food is a 4, espresso drinks are a 2.5. Better espresso than Starbucks (a 1 in my book), but no training on the craft of how to use an espresso machine. I'd opt for foolproof drip next time.
Best cupcakes in Boston (Sweet and Georgetown have nothing on Crema). Cupcake selection changes every month as well—I wait for the s'mores cupcake every June! Also used to get their Felipe's hot (spicy) chocolate every winter, but they don't make it any more :(
Bad menu for food. Coffee is fine though. Just another small coffee shop.
Very good coffee (both cold brew and the signature Crema Latte), good atmosphere and while I didn't try them, the food options look good. Knocked a star off for the impossible seating arrangement on their balcony where you have to basically sit on the table to actually have 6 people sitting by the rail. I recommend a bar there with some power outlets underneath if they are looking to maximize seating capacity.
Friendly staff. I recommend their specialty Golden Crema. Good location - you get to watch the hectic Harvard area without the hustle and bustle spilling indoors. Great atmosphere and music selection - they mainly played Motown when I visited. Will be visiting more, whether it's to catch up with friends or get some work done.
