Pretty good food but service was lack luster. Took 15-20 minutes after ordering beer and food at the same time to get our beers, which were followed with food about 2 minutes later. It was busy, but that long to get drinks is pretty ridiculous. Our server didn't have to many tables or seemed over worked, just un-attentive.
We may have just gotten unlucky, as many others seem to enjoy this restaurant, but I was hard pressed not to give a 1 star review
-Granola was tasty, as was most of the food
-Eggs came out massively undercooked, certainly not safe to serve. They were replaced after convincing the waitress that over easy did not mean raw egg whites.
Our bartenders were great, very attentive. The atmosphere is just what you'd expect from a decent dive bar, without the nasty smell. They have a coin-op pool table, shuffleboard, and pinball. We went on a Saturday night, so it was packed and we never got to play any games. The food was hit or miss... She liked her fried chicken, but the cheese curds were very, very salty and didn't really have any cheese in them -was mostly just crispy batter. Weird. The drinks were pretty good, a little sweet for my tastes tho. I'll stick with beer next time.
Fantastic dive bar with unique beer and a shot specials. The prices are good and the staff is friendly. Food so far has been good basic pub food. I recommend the juicy Lucy and other burgers. Not really a family restaurant but a great place to hang and play shuffleboard with friends.
Reasons to love it, but more reasons to hate it. We went on a Sunday for brunch and sat outdoors. There was no wait to get seated here while The Friendly Toast next door had an hour wait. Next time I'll take the hint and wait.
Definitely one of the cooler bars in the Boston area. Fantastic beer selection, albeit a bit pricey. Haven't eaten here, but it was a fun time to come and hang out with some friends after a long day of an outdoor activity. I wish there were more places like this one!
Pros:
Cons
-For the price, portions were paltry
-Spicy bloody Mary, came with beer
-Service was far below average. Servers did not take our food orders until flagged down.
