We decided not to eat at Wit's End and will not be going back.
The new drink menu is great. The new manager Jayson is great. He was at Beehive previously. The Gouda Mac&cheese is fantastic. The sliders are really good....get the fries without the Parmesan mix. I like simple fries.
Amazing staff. We had such a fun time, and they always served a new great cocktail right when I was about to lose my game! It eased the heartache.
I came for one of their opening events and it was packed. Still, the waiter found me in the corner and made sure I was taken care of. The food was delicious (I recommend the veggie sliders) and my friends and I had fun solving puzzles and riddles while we enjoyed the atmosphere. The wooden game tables were really beautiful. I will definitely go back on a less crowded night.
I went to Wit's End last night with my girlfriend and some friends. We were grabbing drinks at the bar, and planned to eat there too. My girlfriend went to order a drink. She is specific about the liquor she enjoys in her drinks, and politely asked the bartender if they have Bacardi. The bartender said no, and offered some other white rums to try. My girlfriend politely declined, and asked if they had Tito's, to which the bartender responded yes - she ordered her second standard drink, Tito's and Diet Coke. A few minutes pass, the the bar manager, or one of the managers (I presume), approaches us and proceeds to lecture us about the controversy surrounding Bacardi, and the reasons why bars are not ordering Bacardi anymore, and that they have much better rums than Bacardi behind the bar. It was rude and condescending, especially because my girlfriend did not give a stink about the bar not having Bacardi. She had even already received her drink, and our group was in conversation when the manager interrupted us.
The place is very nicely designed and has a unique concept. Be curious and ask the staff about what you see around you and what it means. It promotes the conversation with friends and with strangers. Among the food items that we tried and enjoyed were the crabby patties, Greek salad, sliders, lamb meatballs, buffalo cauliflower florets, and potato skins. The portions are smaller (it`s a part of the concept) so try at least 2 things. The bar manager is great and knows her stuff. Don't be afraid to experiment with your drinks. They have some unusual names for the drinks, which is fun to read and cool to try. On the last visit we had one with Rum, espresso liqueur, coconut cream & flakes, recommended.
